So does your confined space attendant need to go for any WSQ training courses?

The answer is no.

You don’t need to send your confined space attendant for external confined space training to qualify them to be an attendant standing outside of the confined space.

There are also no WSQ course specifically for confined space attendant so you can train them in house.

The one thing you need to take note is that according to SS 568, the attendant need to go through first aid training that has CPR component in it. For the first aid course, you need to send them for external training.

However, the flexibility to be able to train in house only applies to non construction industries. For construction industries, you still have to go for WSQ perform work in confined space course.
